Standard Safety Features

AC Volts from 0.1mV to 600V

• Test power lines (120, 220, 480)
• Test 24V going to controls.
• Test for transformer failure.
• 400 AAC with ACH4 current head (included).

Test motor run & start capacitors

• Capacitors are one of the most failure prone components in an HVAC/R system. When MFDs are out of spec, it’s time for a change out.

0.1? resolution for “Ohming out” a motor

• Find shorts in internal motor windings. 0.1? resolution needed to test resistance between the motor poles.

Flame rectififier diode test

• Microamps DC for when the flame diode goes out. The first test when you get the familiar “my furnace turns on but then turns off again” call.

DC Volts from 0.1mV to 6200V

• Test variable frequency drive components and control units. Also good for quick battery checks. Measure other HVAC/R parameters with slide-on instrument heads using mV ranges.

Continuity / Diode Test

• See if the circuit is open or closed.
• Check for bad fuses.
• Check diodes.
